We are very pleased to announce that based on new government guidance we will shortly be starting to see patients for ‘face to face’ appointments. Since we are governed by the Chief Dental Officer and Public Health England who determine to what extent we can provide care, this will be in a phased manner based on their ongoing guidance.
The safety of our patients and team has always been our highest priority. We have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare for re-opening: reviewing government guidance, maintaining our equipment, sourcing enhanced personal protective equipment (PPE), training the team, putting in new measures such as screens at reception, and working on ways to implement social distancing and additional infection control protocols for your continued safety.
As a result of these measures, your next visit to the practice may look and feel different. We may even need you to come to one of our other practices in the short term. Prior to your appointment one of the team will go through our new protocols with you.
For the next few months we won’t be able to see as many patients each day so that we can assure social distancing and implement additional infection control protocols between patients. We’ll be managing our diaries as best we can and contacting patients as soon as possible, but please be aware that it might take us a little longer to schedule your appointment.
From Wednesday 10th June we will be offering appointments to those that have contacted us during lockdown with a dental problem. You do not need to contact us if we are already aware of your dental problem, we will get in touch to arrange an appointment for you.
If you already have an appointment booked in the next few weeks, we will be in touch with you to discuss the appointment. Since we are prioritising those patients who have been suffering during lockdown it may be necessary to delay your appointment for a short time.
If you have had any appointments cancelled during lockdown we will be in touch to rebook these as soon as possible.
We are hoping to resume routine appointments from July. We will be limited in the number of patients that we are able to see each day, so existing appointments may have to be amended.
In order to avoid aerosol sprays, hygiene treatment will be limited to hand scaling only. We will not be able to use ultrasonic cleaning (with the water spray) for the time being.
If you were undergoing treatment before lockdown, we will contact you soon to make a plan for completing your treatment.
Thank you again for your loyalty and patience throughout this pandemic – we truly are grateful for your support and cannot wait to get back to seeing and treating all of you.
Dr Shafina Jiwani and the whole EverDental family.
